About the event

   Water stopped being an engineers-only subject in Hanoi a while ago: the city is racing to finish emergency flood-control works, the sector has just been rewritten into new legislation, and sewage treatment is lagging behind the pace of construction. Once a year all of that lands in a single hall, next to the hardware itself and the people who sign the contracts.

   Vietnam Water Week reaches its fifth edition. The theme announced by the organisers is «Digital Transformation — Enhancing the Adaptability of the Water Sector in the New Era», and it translates into concrete things: real-time network monitoring, leak detection, urban drainage modelling, smart control of pumping stations.

   The essentials:

  • — more than 150 companies and over 200 exhibition booths expected — treatment lines, pipes, pumps, lab equipment, sensors, software;
  • — delegates from 15+ countries and territories, plus around 10,000 specialists, managers and researchers;
  • — a run of technical seminars: digital tools in network management and operation, climate adaptation, gender equality in sector policy, and financing through PPP and ODA;
  • — a B2B matching floor for direct talks with investors, financial institutions and international partners;
  • — award ceremonies for outstanding water-engineering graduation projects, Young Vietnamese Water Specialist of the Year and the «Dòng xanh nước Việt» prize;
  • — the «Nước cho cuộc sống» («Water for Life») 2026 photo contest and exhibition;
  • — site visits to working water supply and drainage facilities around Hanoi.

   Who it is for. Utility operators get to compare hardware in person and talk to vendor engineers rather than sales managers. Designers and urban infrastructure contractors see what is already installed on Hanoi's live sites. Technology firms and startups reach buyers who rarely answer cold emails. Students and early-career water engineers find competitions with real prizes and direct access to sector leaders. Foreign suppliers get the B2B floor and partners already trading in Vietnam.

   The numbers behind that turnout come from the Ministry of Construction: more than 95% of Vietnam's population has access to clean water, yet only about 70% of urban wastewater is collected and roughly 18% is actually treated. The country runs 83 urban treatment plants with a combined design capacity of about 2.06 million m³ per day, operating at around half of it. Hanoi alone is pushing through ten emergency flood-control projects worth close to 5,600 billion VND. The gap between what is collected and what is treated is the market suppliers come here to compete for.

   The venue is a landmark cultural palace a short ride south of Hoan Kiem Lake, and it hosted the 2025 edition too: 200-plus booths from 15 countries and territories, familiar names such as BIWASE, HueWACO, Tien Phong Plastic, Binh Minh Plastic and Viet An next to DEVIWAS and Spain's Molecor, 17 sharing sessions at the Open Technical Workshop, and cooperation agreements signed on the B2B floor. The online mirror of the exhibition drew visitors from a further 18 countries. At the international sessions in 2025 the organisers dropped booth interpreting for the first time and ran an AI platform built by the Vietnamese startup LocaAI instead.

   The event is run by the Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Association (Hội Cấp thoát nước Việt Nam, VWSA) together with the exhibition company VIETFAIR, under the patronage of the Ministry of Construction. The association is chaired by Nguyen Ngoc Diep (Nguyễn Ngọc Điệp).

   Visitors register online in advance through the organisers' form; booths and sponsorship packages are arranged directly with the organising committee.

   General enquiries go to [email protected]; booth booking and advertising to [email protected] or the VIETFAIR exhibition desk on +84 966 702 190.

   If your work touches water, wastewater or urban infrastructure, three days in central Hanoi will move things further than six months of email.
