Conference «Google I/O Extended Hanoi x AI Riser Vietnam 2026»

Whatever Google announces at I/O usually takes months to filter down to developers working outside the Bay Area. The extended edition run by GDG Hanoi compresses that into a single afternoon in Cầu Giấy: the announcements first, then hands-on work on the same day. If you have been circling AI agents without knowing where to start, this is a reasonable place to start.

This season runs under the theme «From Prompt to Action» — the shift from writing code by hand to orchestrating agents that reason and execute on their own. The programme mixes tech talks on Gemini, AI agents, AI Studio and Google Cloud with a practical codelab on Google AI Studio, for which the organisers have provisioned extra resources for attendees.

Running alongside it is AI Riser Vietnam 2026, an innovation challenge for the local tech community built around #VibeCoding and #BuildwithGoogleAI. A dedicated session walks through how the challenge works, so you can ask the organisers directly instead of piecing it together from documentation afterwards.

The room is deliberately mixed: engineers already fluent in Google's stack, and non-technical builders who want to ship something without a deep engineering background. Between sessions there are minigames, a photobooth and organiser giveaways.

GDG Hanoi is the city's chapter of Google Developer Groups, the independent community network that stages a local extension of I/O every year. As of 5 August the community page recorded 962 registrations — auditorium scale rather than a back-room meetup, and worth factoring into how early you arrive.

The separate challenge track has its own sign-up at goo.gle/airiservietnam. Seats in the hall are limited, so confirm yours before the week is out.
