Fair «Hành trình Quốc bảo Sâm Ngọc Linh» (Ngoc Linh Ginseng Journey)

   A real Ngoc Linh ginseng root on the table, and the grower standing beside it to answer your questions: for three days at the end of September the open ground beside Son Tra Night Market in Da Nang turns into a market for Vietnam's most prized herb. If you have only ever seen this "national treasure" ginseng in adverts, this is where to see the thing itself.

   The September edition runs under the theme "Hành trình Quốc bảo Sâm Ngọc Linh – Gắn kết không gian trải nghiệm Sâm Ngọc Linh và dược liệu Đà Nẵng" (the journey of the national treasure, Ngoc Linh ginseng) and gathers around 50 stalls with ginseng, the city's medicinal plants and products made from them. Alongside the shopping there is a trade side: producers and cooperatives meet distributors and partners from Vietnam and abroad and get advice on markets, quality standards and regulations.

   It is not only stalls. The programme includes cultural and art activities, a Co Tu gong performance and hands-on experiences that show why ginseng and forest herbs are woven into the life and beliefs of the ethnic communities in the mountains west of the city.

   Come if you want ginseng and herbal products with a clear origin, if you are planning an evening at the night market and would like one more stop, or if you are in the trade and looking for partners. Ngoc Linh ginseng has held the status of a national product since 2017; after the 2025 merger the growing areas at the foot of Ngoc Linh mountain became part of Da Nang, and the city is building a value chain from farm to shelf. This recurring programme is one link of that plan.
