Trail race «Vietnam Highlands Trail by UTMB 2027»

   Four sacred peaks of the highlands — Langbiang, Núi Voi, Pinhatt and Bidoup — strung together into an internationally certified course through pine forest, old-growth jungle and windswept ridges. The race belongs to the UTMB World Series, the largest trail circuit in the world.

   It is put on by Nexus Sport Events. Five distances circle the four mountains, each named after a landmark:

• — 100K Langbiang — starts 03:00 on Saturday 9 January
• — 50K Elephant — starts 05:00 on Saturday 9 January
• — 20K Pinhatt — starts 07:30 on Saturday 9 January
• — 10K Tuyen Lam — starts 09:00 on Saturday 9 January
• — 5K Xuan Huong — starts 06:00 on Sunday 10 January

   Entry fees are quoted in US dollars. The standard phase runs to 30 September 2026 at 27.5 US$ for the 5K, 52.8 US$ for the 10K, 75.9 US$ for the 20K, 107.8 US$ for the 50K and 201.3 US$ for the 100K. The late phase, 1 October to 25 December 2026, rises to between 35.2 and 231 US$.

   It is aimed at experienced trail runners chasing points in the international system, at road runners testing highland altitude for the first time over 20K, and at newcomers, for whom the 5K around the city centre is enough. Budget two nights in Đà Lạt: the schedule spans three days.

   The mandatory kit list is strict, and longest for the 100K: hydration pack or vest, a phone kept switched on with the LiveRun app installed, a GPS device with the correct GPX file, at least one litre of water, headtorch with spare batteries, survival blanket, whistle, elastic bandage, reserve food, a hooded waterproof jacket and a personal reusable cup, which every distance requires. Some missing items mean immediate disqualification, others add 15 or 30 minutes to your result, and kit is checked at random along the course.

   8 January is check-in, race kit collection and the opening ceremony at Quảng trường Lâm Viên. The 100K, 50K and 5K start there too, while the 20K and 10K set off from a different point, Đường hầm Đất Sét. The closing and awards take place on the morning of 10 January. If you want a genuine international trail event without leaving Vietnam, this is the closest door.
