MusicalA concert right by the sea: the stage goes up inside the ballroom of a beach resort in Ho Tram, a few steps from the sand, and the programme runs ninety minutes, so you still get an unhurried evening by the water afterwards. At the centre of it is the singer Vietnam calls the queen of its dance-pop scene.
Thu Minh, born in 1977 and named Vu Thu Minh (Vũ Thu Minh) in full, built the Vietnamese dance-pop standard with songs like «Đường cong», «Chuông gió» and «Bóng mây qua thềm». In 2013 she took Best Asian Artist at the Mnet Asian Music Awards, and the year before that she sat as a coach on the first season of «Giọng hát Việt», the Vietnamese version of The Voice, where her mentee Huong Tram (Hương Tràm) won the final.
The special guest is Vu Thao My (Vũ Thảo My). She won the second season of «Giọng hát Việt» in 2013 at sixteen, the youngest champion the show had had at that point. The two singers are not new to each other: in 2024 they performed as a duo on «Bài hát của chúng ta», the show that pairs singers of two generations, and won its first season together.

The evening suits people already spending the weekend in Ho Tram who want something on the schedule besides the beach and the golf course, and anyone following Vietnamese pop who wants to hear two generations of voices in one room. If you have never heard this voice at close range, a ballroom is a far kinder place for it than a stadium.
The Grand Ballroom is working almost non-stop as a concert venue this season: My Tam (Mỹ Tâm) sings here on 5 September, and this show follows two weeks later. The address deserves a line of its own. Since June 2025 the commune of Ho Tram (Hồ Tràm) has been part of Ho Chi Minh City and the province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau (Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu) no longer exists, which is why tickets and maps put this beach inside Ho Chi Minh City even though it lies about 100 km south-east of central Saigon.
Tickets are sold online and split into three zones of the same hall. The zones carry identical perks and differ only in where you sit, so the choice is about sightlines rather than about what you get. Part of the allocation closes the night before the show, so booking early is the safer move.
Ninety minutes of a big voice a few steps from the sea is reason enough to stay in Ho Tram for the evening instead of driving off right after sunset.
