Trail race «Vung Tau City Trail 2026»

   Vung Tau's Big Mountain (Núi Lớn) is not a technical climb, but it is enough to test your legs - and shaded enough by forest to make the south coast's heat forgiving for most of the route.

   Vung Tau City Trail 2026 runs under the theme "Run With Giants". Starting from the centre of this beach city, the course climbs Núi Lớn on terrain that is demanding without being extreme, then follows stretches that open onto sea views. Heavy forest cover keeps the climbing sections noticeably cooler than the city centre below.

   The race is organised by Vietnam MTB Series, with start and finish at the Vung Tau Revolutionary Traditional House - a French-era villa that once served as the Viet Minh Committee's headquarters and is now a small museum of the city's revolutionary history.

   The 7km and 12km suit runners new to trail running who want a taste of off-road racing without heavy preparation. The 25km and 35km are for runners with trail experience looking for a longer day on the mountain and a tougher physical test. If you usually run on asphalt and want to step outside that comfort zone, starting short before you think about the 35km is a reasonable approach.

   Beyond the race itself, the organisers frame Vung Tau City Trail as a full weekend break: finish in the morning and there is still an afternoon left for the beach or a walk around the city with family.
