Trail race «Vung Tau City Trail 2026»
Vung Tau Revolutionary Traditional House
550,000 ₫ – 1,150,000 ₫
Culture and ArtsWatching fireworks in a seaside town has one clear advantage: nothing tall stands between you and the sky, and the water hands the whole display back to you a second time. On the evening of 2 September, Vũng Tàu is one of only three positions in the entire city plan cleared for high-altitude fireworks.
The firing position is Tam Thắng Tower Square, going up from 21:00 to 21:15 in step with the six other points. The load here is 420 high-altitude shells, 80 low-altitude and 60 G25 racks — level with the New City Centre and second only to the largest position at the mouth of the Saigon River tunnel.
Since the 2025 administrative reorganisation, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu has been part of Ho Chi Minh City, so what happens here belongs to the city-wide plan rather than a provincial one. Within a short radius, that puts three things on the same evening:
high-altitude fireworks at Tam Thắng Tower Square, Vũng Tàu ward, from 21:00
low-altitude fireworks at Bà Rịa Square Park, Bà Rịa ward, same slot, 90 FH-60 racks
the art programme marking 81 years since the August Revolution, on the open-air stage at Bà Rịa Square Park, starting an hour and a half earlier at 19:30
The 2 September display is not the only one this year. Vũng Tàu gets fireworks on three evenings — 29 August, 1 September and 2 September. The first two go up not from the square but from the Sun World Vung Tau water park inside the Blanca City complex, at around 20:00, a time the organisers still describe as provisional. Both nights sit within the Blanca La Festa programme: a pool party with a BBQ buffet and craft beer on 29 August, then LED light shows, a DJ with an MC and a fire show from 17:00 on 1 September, with the fireworks closing the night.
Water park entry over the holiday window, 29 August to 6 September, costs 150,000 ₫, with a buffet combo at 350,000 ₫ for children and 450,000 ₫ for adults. Tam Thắng Tower Square on 2 September stays open to all, with no ticket at all.
The city has also designated an exhibition zone at the Revolutionary Tradition House, 1 Ba Cu street, Vũng Tàu ward — one of three city-level exhibition areas for the holiday. Its opening dates and theme have not been announced.
The evening suits families on the long holiday, groups driving down from Ho Chi Minh City for the coast, and foreign visitors already staying along Back Beach. There are no tickets and no reserved areas: the square and the seafront either side of it are all viewing ground.
A note on the road. The National Day break is a long one this year, and the highway between Ho Chi Minh City and Vũng Tàu reliably clogs on the afternoon before the holiday and around midday on the last day. People who plan ahead travel half a day early and return half a day late.
Claim a stretch of shore about an hour before the first shell, and the sea takes care of the rest.
