Football match «Khatoco Khánh Hòa - Thép Cần Thơ»

A Friday evening in the seaside city with 90 minutes of professional football right in the centre of town. Khatoco Khánh Hòa host Thép Cần Thơ in round four of V.League 2 2026-27, opening a stretch of two home games just four days apart - the busiest run of the home side's first half of the season.

Thép Cần Thơ have not started well: in their opening fixture at home they lost 0-3 to Hưng Yên. That is exactly why this one should be tense - the visitors badly need points, and the hosts cannot afford to drop any at home in a week that leaves no room for mistakes.

On the Khánh Hòa side this is still a brand-new squad under head coach Võ Đình Tân: 20 of the 27 registered players are new, most of them former Khánh Hòa men coming back after spells elsewhere. The attack features Ukrainian striker Oleksandr Kurakin, 1.92 m tall, and overseas Vietnamese player Trương Minh Quốc, previously with Skive IK in Denmark.

A few things worth knowing before kick-off:
This is Khatoco Khánh Hòa's second home fixture of the season
The hosts play two home games inside five days
Thép Cần Thơ arrive after a 0-3 defeat in the opening round
The club was re-founded in 2012 after the old Khatoco Khánh Hòa was dissolved

The 2026-27 season has 14 clubs and 26 rounds and runs into mid-May. For a side rebuilding its squad, points taken at home in the early months are what keeps a whole campaign from drifting.

The match suits regulars who turn up whenever the team plays at the 19 tháng 8 ground, anyone who wants to end the working week with something loud and real, and visitors curious about the sporting life of the city. If you pick only one match this month, pick the Friday one.

A full stand is exactly what a rebuilding club needs right now. See you at the ground.
