Conference «IEEE ICCE 2026» (Communications and Electronics)

About the event

   For three days a beachfront hotel in Nha Trang becomes the room where engineers from Japan, Australia, Korea, Germany and Vietnam take apart the next generation of connectivity: 6G networks, millimetre-wave circuits, non-terrestrial links and AI that runs at the edge instead of the cloud. If you want one clear view of where Vietnamese electronics is heading, this is the place to get it.

   The ICCE series has run biennially since 2006, and this is edition eleven: the conference turns 20, while its founding host, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), turns 70. Selection was tight — of 259 reviewed submissions, 122 papers made the main proceedings alongside 27 posters, a 47.1% acceptance rate. Papers are indexed in SCOPUS and published in IEEE Xplore.

   The essentials: four keynotes open day one.

  • Takehiro Nakamura, NTT DOCOMO, former chair of 3GPP TSG-RAN — "6G Values and Technologies";
  • — Kenichi Okada, Institute of Science Tokyo, IEEE Fellow with more than 500 publications — "Advances in Millimeter-Wave Circuit Design for Future Communications";
  • — Zhongqing Su, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Editor-in-Chief of Ultrasonics — on ultrafast laser-enabled ultrasonic imaging inside semiconductors;
  • — Tat-Jun Chin, Adelaide University, head of the AI for Space group — "AI on the Space Edge".

   After that the programme splits across five parallel rooms and five technical tracks: communication networks and systems, signal processing and applications, microwave engineering, electronic systems, and power electronics. Four special sessions run alongside — distributed AI across the edge-cloud continuum, 6G non-terrestrial networks, intelligent multimodal perception, and advances in medical imaging — plus the OpenRIT6G workshop, an invitation-only Vietnam-Korea workshop on collaboration in electrical engineering, and Samsung's G-EPSS semiconductor education programme.

   It is built for researchers, PhD candidates and working engineers in telecoms and microelectronics, and for technical leads scouting R&D partners in Vietnam. In three days you can hear the people writing 6G standards, line up a supervisor for a doctorate abroad, and talk directly to the teams behind Samsung, Viettel, Tektronix, VNPT Technology and Genetron.

   The opening ceremony and keynote sessions are held in the Grand Ballroom on the first floor; parallel sessions move up to the second-floor rooms named after the islands of Nha Trang Bay — Hòn Mun, Hòn Tằm, Hòn Tre, Hòn Ông and Hòn Chồng. A gala dinner follows on the evening of 30 July.

   The conference is organised by HUST together with Danang University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, with technical sponsorship from IEEE and the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS).

   On fees: rates differ for students, IEEE members and everyone else, and cover all technical sessions, lunches, coffee breaks, the gala dinner and a USB copy of the proceedings. One registration covers up to two papers; co-authors register separately. Registration tied to accepted papers closed on 12 June, so attendance is now handled case by case through the secretariat, which also issues the formal invitation letter for a conference visa (your passport needs at least six months of validity).

   The programme, the talks and the proceedings are in English.

   Hotel bookings and pickup from Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) go through Ms Hong Nguyen, [email protected], +84 935 734 087; general enquiries to [email protected]. Registration and fees.

   Twenty years ago ICCE was where Vietnamese engineers went out to meet global research. This week global research comes to them — and three days on the Nha Trang coast are worth clearing your calendar for.
