«Hue Amazing Marathon 2026»

   Running through the old imperial capital while it is still dark, along the Perfume River and past the citadel walls — Hue keeps its own pace, and the course passes exactly the places the city is known for.

   There are four distances: 5, 10, 21 and 42 km. Notably it includes a full marathon — not many races in the country keep the 42 km distance, so for anyone looking for a place to finish their first marathon this is worth considering.

   The organiser is Bolt Event. Entry starts at 399,000 VND, which is low for a road race of this size, particularly among events that offer the full distance.

   The start is at 4am, so most of the running happens before the central-Vietnam sun is up — which matters if you are covering a long distance in late August.

   The official race site, run by BOLT Event JSC: Hue Amazing Marathon. Be aware that the rules, venue, race kit and schedule sections there are still marked «coming soon» and only fill in close to race day. Entries are handled on iRace.

   If you have thought about running a first marathon somewhere that gives you more than a medal to remember, Hue is a fitting city for it.
