Community run «Quảng Điền – Hành trình kết nối» 2026

   A 5am start through farmland and lagoon-side villages north of Hue, on roads where the locals themselves are the grandstand. If you have only ever run city races, this is a different kind of morning.

   There are two distances, 5 km and 10 km — short enough for a first race, long enough to be worth the alarm clock. Start and finish are the same point, the forecourt of the commune culture house, so bag drop and meeting your supporters are simple.

   The race is put on by the Quảng Điền commune People's Committee to mark 81 years since the August Revolution of 1945 and Vietnam's National Day. The organisers state plainly that one aim is to show the area off to visitors, so the route is chosen for scenery as much as for timing.

   Quảng Điền sits north of central Hue on the way to the Tam Giang lagoon — worth knowing if you are staying downtown and need to plan the ride out. The whole event is over by 7:30am, which leaves your day intact.

   If you want one morning in Hue that most visitors never see, this is a straightforward way to get it.
