Highland fair «Phiên chợ vùng cao A Lưới – Hè 2026» («A Lưới Highland Market – Summer 2026»)

   For two days the highland market at A Lưới, up in the western uplands of Huế, runs as a full fair — Tà Ôi, Cơ Tu and Pa Cô households bringing down what they actually make and use rather than a souvenir version of it.

   Craft demonstrations run through the market: Dèng brocade weaving, listed as intangible cultural heritage, traditional basket plaiting, A Qoạt cakes made on the spot and rice pounded in a wooden mortar.

   Around them sit food rows staffed by the villages and by local traders, a display of farm tools, musical instruments and household objects, and a market of OCOP-labelled goods and local farm produce.

   On the programme side there is a «Hè 2026» performance evening on the first day, plus folk games — stilt walking and the nhảy sạp bamboo pole dance — in two slots each day, afternoon and evening.

   The fair is organised by the A Lưới 2 commune administration, which publishes the day-by-day details on its own site. A Lưới is a long way west of central Huế, so plan it as a full day out rather than an evening errand.
