Hoi An Book and Reading Culture Day

   Until 27 September, Thanh Hoa Library in Hoi An turns into a large book fair: «Ngày Hội Sách và Văn Hoá Đọc Hội An» (Hoi An Book and Reading Culture Day) brings several major Vietnamese publishers together under one roof.

   Ten days, 8am to 11pm, with tens of thousands of titles on offer - fiction, business, self-help, children's and school books. Participants include Alpha Books, Đông A, First News, Omega+, Gamma and the reading platform Trạm Đọc, with the whole fair curated by the Vietnam Reading Alliance (VRA).

   Timed to Mid-Autumn, there are extra discounts - some titles cut by more than half, some priced from 10,000₫, and a free bookmark with every order.

   Good for families combining an old-town stroll with back-to-school book shopping for the kids, and for anyone collecting Vietnamese editions. It sits just steps from Hoi An's historic centre - easy to drop into between a walk and dinner.

   The organisers frame it plainly: lanterns and the old town first, the book fair as the reason to make the trip.
