Hard techno night «CØLLISION – Second Impact»

   If your idea of techno is faster and heavier, Ho Chi Minh City has a series built for exactly that. CØLLISION returns to Thao Dien for its second edition: five DJs and a night the organisers build around pressure, speed and distortion.

   CØLLISION was set up as a space for the harder edges of electronic music in the city: hard techno, industrial techno, hard dance and whatever happens where they collide, hence the name. The first edition, First Impact, took place at the same venue in August. This time the brief comes in two parts: no decoration around the music, no compromise on intensity.

   ANEMAN, ENZ and NOTYUTING all played First Impact. The organisers describe the five as different visions on one trajectory, from the first tension of the night to a full-impact finish.

   The night is for people who go clubbing for speed and heavy low end rather than background music: fans of hard techno, industrial and hard dance, and anyone curious to hear the harder side of Saigon's electronic scene.

   Le Café des Stagiaires is a French-Belgian bistro and bar founded by three Frenchmen and a Belgian: a living-room style space inside and an open-air rooftop upstairs with views over the Saigon River and Landmark 81, plus covered areas for when it rains. The venue is also co-hosting the night.

   The lower price is the presale and tickets at the door cost more; the organisers warn that capacity is limited and strongly recommend buying ahead. The house rules are explicit: harassment, discrimination and violence are not tolerated, and anyone making others feel unsafe may be removed.

   If a good club night for you is measured in beats per minute, CØLLISION's second impact is worth the ride out to Thao Dien.
