DJ night «W.A.X. Ep.5: Boogie Down» at Bông Kia Sên

   Funk, boogie and the earliest dance records of the vinyl era, played entirely from wax, free entry — the fifth W.A.X. comes back to Bông Kia Sên on Saturday 3 October with a guest from the United States. If you want to know where today's dancefloors came from, this is the most enjoyable lesson available.

   W.A.X. describes itself as a dig through the golden era of funk, boogie and early dance music — the years when soulful grooves, infectious rhythms and four-to-the-floor beats laid the foundations of the dancefloors we know today. This time the original crew is joined by Starchild for a night of foot-stomping, head-bobbing tunes.

   For fans of the 1970s and 80s, record collectors and anyone who would rather dance in a small bar by the Nhiêu Lộc canal than in a big club. Bông Kia Sên is at 680 Trường Sa — follow the canal road and you are there.
