Club night «Luu Club: Antonne, Levisng, Yasuda»

   A Manila DJ who came to the decks through street dance, and a night built around groove rather than hits. If classic house, garage and funk suit you better than a chart set, this is where you want to be.

   The guest is Antonne — DJ, producer and dancer, with releases on international labels and stage experience beyond the Philippines. He spent years on the floor before he stood behind it, and his sets are put together that way: physical rather than showy, held together by the groove instead of the drop.

   Local support comes from Levisng, who works a bright seam of jazzy house and city pop, and Yasuda, who plays long, seamless sets in the spirit of classic New York clubs, where the interest sits in the transitions rather than in any single record.

   Luu is in Thạnh Mỹ Tây, just across the canal from District 1, so it is an easy stop if you are staying downtown. You do not need to know any of the names to follow the night — all three sets are built to read as one long arc, which makes this a reasonable first club night as well as a serious one.
