Club night «Hors Série – By Night» at La Scène Saigon

   A bistro in Bình Thạnh has decided to launch its own series for the nights it goes all in: two floors, two parallel programmes and a hand-picked line-up of five DJs. The first Hors Série – By Night lands on Saturday 26 September, free entry, music from 8 pm until late.

   In brief:

   — ground floor: MLiR (Marco of the Swedish duo Modern Life Is Rubbish), Gỏi Cuốn and Adrien back to back
— listening room upstairs: Captain Karl with an all-Japanese selection — jazz, grooves, slow disco — and Toss of Liminal Dreams adding ambient touches
— free entry, 18+; a new series from La Scène

   By the venue's account, Marco is one half of Modern Life Is Rubbish, whose 2024 double LP «Pulpo Fiction» came out on Studio Barnhus, and runs his own label, Taf Kif Records. Gỏi Cuốn is the mind behind this first edition. The ground floor is meant to be upbeat, playful and groovy; the room upstairs goes deeper while keeping the groove.

   For lovers of disco and easy house, and for anyone who likes an evening that starts with dinner and wine at the bistro and stays for the dancing — the organisers suggest coming early for exactly that reason. With no cover charge the place will fill up fast. La Scène is on Trần Quang Long in Bình Thạnh, a short ride north-east of the centre.
