Club night «Chuột Cống Vol.7» (Sewer Rats)

   The rain is back and the rats are crawling out again. Chuột Cống — literally «sewer rat» — is Saigon's most self-mocking underground party series, and its seventh edition floods a Thảo Điền courtyard with industrial and electronica until four in the morning. Dressing up weird is not just allowed, it is the point.

   What to expect:
— international guest Venesia World, a familiar face in the Chuột Cống family
— local pack: Roughbite, Tân Thiếu Gia, Thúy Kiều, Chi Min, Phát Paris
— industrial and electronica from 9:30 pm till 4 am

   Vol.6 landed in late July — the series resurfaces roughly once a month, each time in a new spot with a new theme. It is a small, tight-knit crowd that treats costumes and chaos as part of the music, a world away from the city's polished LED clubs.

   If you want to see the scrappy, funny, loud side of Saigon nightlife, follow the rats down the drain for one night — you can be respectable again in the morning.
