Bingo night «Disney Bingo» at W.A.L.L Bar

   Regular bingo rewards patience. This one rewards a misspent childhood: instead of a number, the host reads out a clue, and you only mark the square once you have worked out which Disney character it points to. In Ho Chi Minh City it doubles as a charity night — every donation goes to a social enterprise that rescues food.

   The game runs over four rounds, each with a big prize for the first full card and smaller prizes for second, third and fourth place. Ten local brands and businesses put the prize pool together, from a tattoo studio to a cider maker and a record label.

   It is built for people who grew up on nineties animation and can name a character from a single line, and for groups who want a bar night with something to do. Knowing your Disney canon is a genuine advantage over the next table.

   The format is the work of host Amélie Huynh Le Maux, who is fond of animation, pop culture and vintage — so themed editions are planned monthly, each with a new subject.

   The venue, W.A.L.L Bar, is a retro rock neighbourhood bar in Thảo Điền, on the eastern side of the river in Thủ Đức, where, in the owners' own words, everyone should feel at home.

   One donation buys one bingo card, and you can take several at once for better odds. The night is played by table, so book yours in advance on the bar's phone line.
