About the event

After «Voices in Dialogue», a concert run with the Goethe-Institut, Saigon Choir - a group currently holding five Gold awards and one Special Prize from international competitions - returns with a concert of its own, this time sung entirely in Vietnamese.

«Tiếng Việt» ("Vietnamese") is built in four parts that trace a single emotional arc: an opening, then "Homeland", "Fatherland" and "The Voice of My Country", led by music director and choir conductor Huynh Quang Thai (Huỳnh Quang Thái) and director-choreographer Truong Thanh Nhan (Trương Thành Nhân). The special guest is young cải lương (traditional opera) performer Truong Trong Nhan (Trương Trọng Nhân) - a silver medallist at the 2022 National Cải Lương Festival and winner of the 2026 National Cải Lương Talent Competition - bringing a strand of traditional theatre into an evening otherwise built around choral voices.

From 7pm, the Conservatory's Concert Hall lobby opens with free tastings of traditional tea, incense and folk instruments before the programme itself starts at 8pm - pushed back half an hour from the original schedule so audiences leaving work don't have to rush.

The show is not meant for children under 6; those aged 6-12 need their own ticket and an accompanying adult. If you've followed Saigon Choir through its international competition wins, or simply want to hear songs about homeland retold in choral voice, this is a rare chance to catch them live at the conservatory where the choir itself trains.

Note: the organisers moved the start from 19:30 to 20:00. The poster still in circulation shows the old time.
