Beer festival «Oktoberfest Vietnam 2026»

   Free-flowing imported German beer, an all-you-can-eat buffet of sausages and pork knuckle, a live band and a prize draw every night — for four evenings in a row a corner of Ho Chi Minh City runs on Bavarian time. The city's most prominent German beer party is back at Windsor Plaza for its seventeenth year, so it pays to pick your evening early.

   Your ticket covers unlimited German beer in two styles, the dark wheat Maisel's Weisse Dunkel (5.2% ABV) and the crisp Veltins Pilsner (4.8% ABV), poured into a souvenir Oktoberfest Vietnam stein that you take home. Imported spirits and sparkling wine are served for a small extra charge. The food is an all-you-can-eat buffet: sausages, pork knuckle, goulash, sauerkraut, German potato salad, salted pretzels and a dessert counter of its own.

   This is an evening built for a group, whether that is colleagues, friends or an all-adult family outing: you pay once and stop counting, because the food and the beer keep coming. If you are after a quiet dinner and a long conversation, choose somewhere else, because it gets loud here, the room fills up and people end up dancing between the tables.

   Oktoberfest Vietnam goes back to the early 2010s, with the photo archive on the official site starting in 2011, and Windsor Plaza Hotel describes more than two decades of hosting it and places its own edition among the largest Oktoberfest celebrations in Southeast Asia, which is the organiser's own assessment. The tradition itself comes from München: the first Oktoberfest was held on 12 October 1810 as a public celebration of a Bavarian royal wedding, and the meadow where the guests gathered has carried the name Theresienwiese after the bride ever since.

   Prices differ by night, with Friday costing more than the other three evenings. The early bird offer runs until 31 August and takes 25 per cent off Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday and 15 per cent off Friday; after that date the early rate closes.

   Two things are worth sorting out in advance. An e-ticket is not accepted at the door and has to be swapped for the official ticket: from 15 to 26 September the exchange desk works in the hotel lobby on the fourth floor between 09:00 and 18:00, and on the four festival nights it moves to the entrance of the venue from 18:00. The festival floor itself is the seventh floor of the hotel, so head straight up rather than looking for a street entrance.
