Business EventsGreenery in a building stopped being a matter of taste some time ago: biophilic design is about how light, plants, air and materials affect the people inside — and what that does to a project's budget. Ho Chi Minh City gets an industry day where architects, designers and engineers take the subject apart layer by layer, from interiors to industrial sites.
It is run by Hubexo, the construction-data group behind the Build Better series; the Vietnamese edition this year carries the theme "Biophilic Design & Human Well-Being". The programme is built around five panel discussions, with supplier and manufacturer conversations in between.
In short
Five panels — biophilic design and human well-being; biophilic interior design; biophilic design aligned with green certifications; biophilic architectural exteriors; applying biophilic design to industrial projects
Shape of the day — registration and networking from 1 pm, opening at 1:50 pm, then panels and exhibitor floor
Organiser — Hubexo, the Build Better programme
Audience — architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors and specification professionals
Next — a matching Build Better day runs in Hanoi later in the year
The practical case is simple: one day gives you both the content and direct contact with manufacturers you would otherwise chase individually. If you are running projects towards green certification, the panel on how biophilic solutions line up with certification requirements is the one to plan around.
The day is hosted at the Sheraton Saigon Grand Opera Hotel on Đồng Khởi, in the middle of District 1 and a couple of minutes' walk from the Opera House.
Entry is by advance registration. Questions about attending or exhibiting go to [email protected].
If you design buildings that people later have to live and work in, this day will save you a dozen separate meetings.
