Khu Vườn Ngôn Từ: Vườn Cổ tích của Andersen — Andersen's Fairy-Tale Garden for children

   The Ugly Duckling, the Little Mermaid, the Little Match Girl and a flock of wild swans are waiting for young guests in a single garden. For the first time in Hanoi, the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen come alive in an interactive performance where children don't just watch — they step inside the story and help write its next page.

   Khu Vườn Ngôn Từ — the "Garden of Words" — opens up "Andersen's creative garden corner" (Góc vườn sáng tạo), inviting the audience to meet their childhood friends through his magical lens. The evening builds to the musical Bầy Chim Thiên Nga ("The Wild Swans"), staged by Nhà hát Tuổi trẻ Việt Nam, one of the country's leading theatres, alongside hands-on art experiences for the young guests.

   It is made for families with children: little ones reunite with the characters they love, while parents slip back into their own childhood. Think of it as an evening the whole family can share, slowing down together around live art.

   Nhà hát Tuổi trẻ Việt Nam (the Youth Theatre of Vietnam) is one of Hanoi's oldest and best-known theatres for young audiences, long associated with children's plays and musicals.

   The project takes its spirit from Andersen himself: "Just living is not enough — one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower." This garden is where that sunshine, freedom and fragrance blossom, page by fairy-tale page.

   The performance is in Vietnamese, yet Andersen's tales are known the world over, and the story unfolds through music, movement and vivid staging — easy to follow even without the language.
