Dance battle «Wonderfunk X»
Contact organizers
DanceHanoi used to sound like bicycle bells and late-night street vendors, until traffic noise buried all of it. This under-23 battle is built around getting that pulse back, and you watch it from a metre away — the cypher is on the floor, not on a stage.
The Rhythm opens a three-leg season run by Nhảy Cái Giải (NCG), a Hanoi student dance community now in its third edition. At a glance:
Everyone on the floor is under 23 and comes out of a student crew, which is what makes this readable for an outsider: you see a scene at the stage where technique is still being built, not a polished touring show. Both categories run in a single session, so one afternoon gives you the whole arc from prelims to final.
Spectator tickets come in tiers — buying online is cheaper than at the door, a bundle of five is cheaper than singles, and the organisers discount further for anyone who posts a confirmation with a photo and their university. Competitor fees are separate: 400,000 VND per 2vs2 pair and 200,000 VND per dancer in 1vs1 when registered online, more on the day.
The floor is hall G215 inside the Greenwich campus, which occupies part of Golden Park Tower in Yên Hòa, west of the centre — an easy taxi ride from the Old Quarter. Look for the organisers' signage at the tower entrance rather than the main lobby desk.
Sign up through the organisers' forms: enter the battle or book a spectator ticket. Come early if you want the front of the circle — that is where the noise actually lives.
