World Culture Festival in Hanoi 2026 (2nd edition)

   For four days in early October, delegations of 39 countries from five continents move into Hoàng thành Thăng Long — Hanoi's Imperial Citadel: food, music, cinema, games and a street parade, all inside a thousand-year-old heritage site. Last year over a million visits were counted in just three days; this year you get four days to explore instead of three.

   The second edition runs under the theme «Hội tụ di sản - Kiến tạo tương lai» (Converging heritage — shaping the future), with 39 countries confirmed as of early August. On the programme:

   — the «Hòa nhạc năm châu» five-continent concert
— the World Culture Village with national culture spaces
— the «Sắc màu năm châu» street parade
— the «Ẩm thực năm châu» international food festival
— an international film programme
— the «Lan tỏa sáng tạo từ di sản» experience zone with games from around the world

   The first edition in October 2025 brought together 48 countries with 45 national culture spaces, 34 international food stalls, 23 art troupes and films from 22 countries — and drew more than 1 million visits in three days. That success made the festival one of Vietnam's flagship cultural-diplomacy events and the reason it returns just a year later in a longer format.

   The setting is an exhibit in itself: the Imperial Citadel of Thăng Long has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2010, testifying to 13 continuous centuries of history under the Lý, Trần, Lê and Nguyễn dynasties. Browsing the national pavilions, you are literally walking over the foundations of thousand-year-old palaces. The site sits in the Ba Đình quarter, a short ride from the Old Quarter.

   It is a genuinely family-friendly outing: games for kids, five continents of street food for the hungry, and costumes against citadel walls for photographers. The festival is co-organized by Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
