Artists' festival «Artist Day SS.20: Magical Brushstroke»

   The twentieth season of Artist Day brings Hanoi's illustration scene out from behind the screens: rows of tables where artists sell their own work, an open stage, a cosplay corner and a workshop table for anyone who wants to hold a brush. The theme this time is Magical Brushstroke, built on the idea that the magic starts with a hand and a brush rather than a wand.

   What the day is made of:

• — Chợ phiên họa sĩ, the artist market, where prints, stickers, badges and merch are sold by the people who drew them, including names new to this season
• — Live Comm, commissions taken on the spot: you watch the drawing happen and take home a one-off piece
• — Art 2 Stage, an interactive stage that any visitor can step onto
• — Thử tài hoa tay, quick rounds of speed sketching, copy drawing and single-line drawing
• — OC Trading, swapping original characters, where a drawing works as a business card
• — a Fandom Booth plus a hobby and cosplay area for fan communities
• — art workshops and a corner on art supplies, with advice on where to buy them cheaply

   The crowd is a young one: art students, manga and anime readers, cosplayers, and families whose children want to try painting for an afternoon. The organisers promise more than 1,000 prizes across the games and challenges, plus a check-in gift on arrival.

   The series is a regular at this address. The thirteenth season was held here on 28 September 2025 and the seventeenth on 29 March 2026, with a new season roughly every two to three months and a new theme each time. Season twenty is billed on four counts: new artists, new activities, new merch, new experiences.

   The venue is part of the story too. Tạp chí Mỹ thuật, the Vietnamese fine arts magazine, describes TASCO Mall as one of the first shopping centres to take on art exhibitions, heritage talks and community creative programmes. Everything runs indoors with air conditioning, which matters if you plan to stay for hours.

   Bring a sketchbook and some spare room in your bag, because people rarely leave Artist Day empty-handed.
