Every evening the lake at the heart of the Halong Marina seafront township in Bãi Cháy lights up: a single jet climbs 90 meters, dozens of streams 40 to 50 meters high dance to the music, and light runs across the water. Entry is free, so if you are in Ha Long tonight, all it takes is a walk down to the lake.
The water show is called «Halo Bay Show» — short for Halong Bay Show, borrowing the «Halo» identity used by Halong Marina's entertainment series. The water stage sits in the middle of a landscaped lake of 11 hectares, in the park on the Hoàng Quốc Việt axis. BIM Land is the developer; the fountain's system and engineering were designed by Nhạc nước NPT and the landscape by KUME Design Asia.
At the launch in late August 2025 the Vietnam Record Organization (Tổ chức Kỷ lục Việt Nam) certified three national records for the project: the music fountain lake beside the heritage bay with the largest number of load-bearing floats (170 stainless-steel pontoons), with the most compressed-air arrays producing 40 to 50-meter columns (84 sets), and with the single highest water column (90 meters). The developer's own page puts the weight of the floating platform at 50 metric tons. According to the newspaper Dân trí, each session runs for 15 to 20 minutes.
There are three sessions every evening — 19:30, 20:20 and 21:10, each about twenty minutes long. Every day of the week has its own theme: Monday «Lời thì thầm của biển» (The whisper of the sea), Tuesday «Cội nguồn văn hóa» (The roots of culture), Wednesday «Bản giao hưởng của thiên nhiên» (A symphony of nature), Thursday «Sắc màu quốc tế» (Colours of the world), Friday «Vũ hội ánh sáng» (A ball of light), Saturday «Câu chuyện tình yêu» (A love story) and Sunday «Viết tiếp những ước mơ» (Writing dreams onward). It suits families with children, residents of the township and visitors staying in Bãi Cháy — the show is short, starts after dinner and needs no ticket, so you can drop in and carry on with your evening. People watch from the lakeshore, and the towers around the water, among them SkyM, ICON40, Aqua City and Harbor Bay, look straight onto it.
Halo Bay Show is part of the chain of night attractions that Bãi Cháy is keeping running from August to December this year, alongside the VuiFest night market and the regular fireworks displays. The city's nine-month tourism report for 2026 names the show among the notable events and activities the city has staged, and in September the fountains were part of the Lễ hội Trăng rằm - Thu Fest 2026 mid-autumn festival.
One thing to keep in mind: the lakeside stage is sometimes taken over by concerts and festivals of its own. On those evenings the sessions can be suspended, and the organisers announce it in advance on Halong Marina's official channels.
Come down to the lake by half past seven in the evening, when the first column of water goes up against the backdrop of the heritage bay.
