«Festival Hoa Đà Lạt» (Da Lat Flower Festival)

   High on the cool Lâm Đồng plateau sits a town where every slope and lakeshore spills over with blossom. Long rows of greenhouses climb the hillsides, the still surface of Hồ Xuân Hương mirrors the sky, and the early mist turns the place into a natural stage for the highland flower growers' biggest celebration — a meeting of colour and melody that runs through every street.

   This is the 11th edition of the celebration, held under the theme «Đà Lạt — a harmony of flower colours and music». You sense that idea along every avenue: flower beds are arranged like a palette, contemporary orchestras and dance troupes flow past in carnival, and a "wine street" by the lake invites you to taste highland specialities. Visitors shoot photographs inside a forest of blooms at the international show of flowers and ornamental plants, wander through the nurseries, and sip warm wine in the drifting fog — experiences found in this corner of the country alone.

   The festival suits everyone: families get room for children to roam among the flowers, photographers find endless angles, and travellers from afar catch the slow rhythm of the "city of flowers". For international guests it is also a way to grasp why this mild-climate highland has long been the flower capital of Vietnam, a place where something is always in bloom.
