Psytrance night «Tripfoundation»

   The stretch of coast north of the Hoi An old town gives a whole night to psychedelic trance: six DJs playing in the open air right by the water, with the dance floor running until sunrise. This is a one-off night rather than another edition of a club series, and the organisers spell the format out: one night, one genre.

   The evening is built around psytrance, with its dense rhythm, long build-ups and an almost unbroken set. The organisers describe the programme in a single line: a night under the stars and deep psychedelic energy by the sea. Set times were not published, only the line-up, and the source says nothing about where the artists come from.

   If goa and psytrance live on your playlist, or you simply like dancing barefoot on sand, this night is built for you. And if you came to Hoi An for the old town, it shows you the other side of the coast: no lanterns, no walking streets, just a dark beach, sound and open sky.

   Saranai Beach House is not a club in the usual sense. The venue presents itself as a beach bar and art coffee place built around recycling, and as a space for music and performance by the water. The floor is the sand itself, under open sky; house and techno played here in August, and this time it is the turn of psychedelic sound.

   The early bird tariff is sold online and lasts only until the doors open, after which the door price is the one left, and it is higher. The organisers have announced neither an age limit nor a dress code.
