Culture and ArtsA community-run seaside fair on the coast just outside Hoi An's ancient town: stalls of vintage goods and homemade produce, food from the Quang region, sailing boats heading out, street performers and hands-on craft workshops. If your picture of Hoi An is lanterns and the pedestrian old town, this weekend offers the coastal version.
The theme is a «Sea Festival», built around a link that runs from the coast up to the mountain communities of the Quang region. Organisers expect 80–100 booths — vintage goods, handicrafts, homemade products, OCOP-certified specialities and food — and around 1,000 domestic and international visitors across the two days.
Worth knowing before you go:
It suits families with children, who get their own programme; anyone who likes weekend markets and handmade things; and travellers curious about how a fishing village runs tourism on its own terms.
The Tân Thành fishing village tourism community and its weekend market hold the ASEAN Community-Based Tourism Award and a 4-star OCOP certification. The festival is organised by the market's management board — a founding member of the Quang Land Destinations Club under the Da Nang Tourism Association — together with Sao Biển Xanh Co. and community members, and it is funded entirely by the community itself.
The market runs on local, safe, low-plastic principles and doubles as the launch of the «Chợ Xanh xứ Quảng» (Green Market of Quang Land) initiative. Bring a refillable bottle and a cloth bag and you are already playing along.
Two days by the sea, a short ride from the old town — worth clearing a morning for.
