Play «Má Ơi Út Dìa!» (Mum, Your Youngest Is Home!)

   The title alone gives away the accent: «út dìa» is Mekong Delta speech for «the youngest one is home» — what a mother calls out when her last child comes back. An evening of family drama, of leaving and returning, which is the material IDECAF has handled best for years.

   The script is by the actor and writer Trung Dân and the production is directed by Thanh Thủy, who also performs in it. She is joined by Quang Thảo, Đình Toàn, Quốc Thịnh, Phạm Huyền Trâm, Ngọc Nguyên, Trung Tín and Đại Nghĩa. Producer: Huỳnh Anh Tuấn.

   The next performance is an evening one on Friday, 11 September 2026, and for now it is the only date on sale: the ticket page for this production holds a single showing.

   This one suits anyone who likes family drama with comedy folded in, and anyone with roots in the Mekong Delta — the speech, the forms of address and the household rhythm all come from there. The play is in Vietnamese and leans hard on southern dialect, which is worth knowing if you are still learning the language.

   IDECAF has been open since September 1997 and had staged more than 100 adult productions by the end of 2016 — a sensible place to start if you want one proper evening of Saigon spoken theatre.

   Booking early makes sense: the house usually runs each title just once per cycle.
