Drum and bass night «Urban Grooves»

Bass2Face is calling Da Nang back for a night of heavy low end: drum and bass, jungle, UK garage and dubstep with no unnecessary hype, as the promoters put it. If you have been looking for a club night in the city built around bass and good people, this is one to consider: the lineup features artists released on the British labels Dispatch Recordings and Sofa Sound.

At a glance, who is on the decks:

   — Ezor: the «Stay Easy» EP on Dispatch Limited, the Dispatch Recordings imprint, which introduced him in 2022 as a rising Russian talent
— Jakart [UK]: the collaborative tracks «Red Snapper» and «Cenote» on Bristol's Sofa Sound; in July he was the headline name at the Bass2Face night Rewind in Hoi An
— MILLS850R [NL]: already played Urban Grooves in Da Nang in early 2025
— Equation [UK] and Ivax: regulars at Bass2Face nights
— Celsior: played the Bass2Face second-birthday party

Dispatch Recordings was launched in 2001 by the duo Hidden Agenda together with Ant TC1. Sofa Sound is DLR's Bristol label and won Best Newcomer Label at the Drum&BassArena Awards 2020. Both labels host their own shows on Rinse FM.

The night is for people who want drum and bass, jungle and UK garage on a dancefloor rather than in headphones: local ravers, expats and travellers looking for Da Nang's underground bass scene.

Bass2Face describes itself as a creative community promoting underground sound in Asia, and in June it marked two years of parties in Da Nang and Hoi An. Urban Grooves is its city series: the first night under the name ran in summer 2024, and the previous edition at BRIX took place in August. BRIX calls itself a space for people who value quality drinks, quality sound and good music.

The lower price is the pre-sale, which runs until the party starts; at the door a ticket costs twice as much. On Google Maps this address shows two pins, Corner Village and Brix Club: BRIX is part of Corner Village.

If you believe drum and bass belongs on a proper sound system and among the right crowd, BRIX is the place to spend this Urban Grooves night.
