Exhibition «Women in Science: Escape Road»

About the event

Twenty-six women who have held a Nobel Prize, an Abel Prize or a Fields Medal — and the road each of them took through barriers, prejudice and laboratories that were not meant for them. The exhibition retells those journeys through biographies, documents and results, so that you see science as a field with no gender.

Da Nang Museum and the Embassy of Spain in Vietnam present the exhibition from 21 to 30 September. It has two parts: «Women in Science: Escape Road – In Search of Future Nobel Laureates», with the stories of 26 women scientists across medicine, biotechnology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and basic and applied research; and an «Inspiration Corner» devoted to Spanish women scientists. The achievements on show range from HIV, cancer and malaria research to CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, quantum physics, lasers and the molecular structure of life.

For school and university students choosing a path, and for parents who want to take their children to an exhibition where the stories matter more than the objects. The programme's message is gender equality in science: a field open to anyone who follows their passion.

The source does not state a separate admission fee for the exhibition.

Ten days to meet the people who changed the world and whom the textbooks rarely name.
